H. E. Tharig Rinpoche Jamyang Kunga Trinly Palbar was born in the village of Bir in the state of Hymachal Pradesh in northwestern India on the 12th of October 2000 A.D. Third child of a Tibetan refugee family, at the age of three he was recognized by H.H. Sakya Trizen as the reincarnation of the 6th Tharig Rinpoche.

On the 1st of February 2004 Rinpoche visited for the first time the Tse Chen She Dup Ling Gonpa in Boudha, Nepal. At that time he was both named as the 7th Tharig Rinpoche and received the monastic robe from H.H. Sakya Trizen and H.E. Ludhing Khen Rinpoche. After two months stay in the Gonpa he returned to Bir along with Lodoe Kunchen, since then his personal tutor.

On the 23rd of May 2005 Tharig Rinpoche returned to Nepal and settled his residence in the Tse Chen She Dup Ling Gonpa.
